The most patriarchal-minded bs I’ve ever read. Can’t remember who got this for me as a grad gift but they need to be unfriended.

For some reason I thought it would be a story, it is just tips on etiquette and stuff though. I wasn't really into it and didn't end up finishing it, I just needed a fictional story and this was more of a self help book. short and kind of cute, but not what I was expecting for some reason.

One of the worst books I've ever read. Truly uninspired and contradicting advice from the early 2000s.

I am only half way through this book and already regretting picking it. It is condescending, pompous and just plain annoying. The author insinuates that today's girls are stupid and living without ambition, chasing after men and gossiping all day long. She seems to be one of those "too good" for anyone girls. Very snobbish, in fact the whole book seems a bit snobbish.

This woman was pretentious, condescending & quite possibly deluded. I agree that, generally speaking, girls (of all ages) need to hold the bar higher in terms of what they expect of themselves as well as what kind of treatment they expect from others. That said, this woman doesn't have the answers. I should have stopped reading after she quoted John Mayer while talking about good men looking for good women to settle down with ... What?!
I don't disagree with her motives but there have got to be better written books with information that is actually helpful & inspirational. This one misses the mark.
