description

This finale was fantastic! It was such a great ending to the series, with all of the favorite characters from the previous books back and even some old faces making a surprise cameo. The plot was great, the writing as fast-paced and brutal as ever, and I really enjoyed seeing some of the characters evolving. One of my favorites (though I really like all of them) in this book especially was Sanchez, it's just so hilarious how he does actually quite a few heroic things but never out of decent reasons or intentional. He's just such a little shit, it's hilarious.

The showdown in the Casa de Ville, the at some part time-shifted narrative - it all really added up to the generally fast-paced writing style and as usual it was a blast to get through this book. I'm kind of sad that the trilogy is over. I know that there are a few more books featuring the Bourbon Kid and some other characters, but I'll just miss the crew in Santa Mondega and the Tapioca and all those idiotic fools that we've come to know over the last three books. Maybe, one day the author will decide to continue the fate of the Santa Mondega gang, even though it all seemed pretty wrapped up (in a good way) by the end of this book.

It was a satisfying ending to a series that had its ups and downs, I think it’s one of the best books in the series. I do wish we got to see a bit more of some of the characters but I liked the book overall.

Good, but not the best in the series by a fair way.
