The Zenescope Wonderland universe is horribly convoluted, partly because Wonderland time works differently (and madly) to ours. But mostly because the stories are written out of sequence and often they will go back to an earlier point in order to re-engineer things in order to introduce a new plot twist later in the saga. So this one goes back to the original trilogy and basically tells the events between Return To Wonderland and Beyond Wonderland from Johnny Liddle's point of view. He rescues a girl called Adina and is sent by the Ebony Blade on a quest to return them to Earth. But Johnny is always just one minor setback from becoming the Mad Hatter. If you're wondering why the Queen of Diamonds appears on the cover... yes her origin story is involved here too. As well as Return To Wonderland, it might also be useful to read Down The Rabbit Hole before this one. Also a part of Johnny's story that is referenced here appears in more detail in a flashback in Beyond Wonderland issue 4 (most of the rest of Beyond Wonderland happens after Through The Looking Glass - confused?).
