It took me a while to get through this, which means I applied the principles therein at least somewhat. Some inspiring thoughts and simple tactics, and it made me consider my time a little differently.

A beautiful, thoughtful exploration of the many ways we can open space in our interior lives for peace, mindful engagement, and creativity. My copy is full of notes. As soon as I finished it, I turned to the front and started again. Marvelous book.

This is one of the loveliest, most thought-full, thought- and action-provoking, expansive, delightful books I've ever read.

I loved the general outline of this book. The first chapter was great and instantly made me more aware of how we live at a constant fast pace, rushing through our days and causing ourselves stress. It inspired me to change the pace of my daily actions and try to take things a lot slower.

The rest of the book didn't speak to me as much. The author quoted a lot of poets and other well-known people, adding anecdotes from their lives, but many of them didn't resonate with me. I was surprised that the point of view was very male oriented, very much echoing the Western canon, although sometimes a paragraph about a female experience was added.

I ended up skipping through the last parts and all in all mostly liked the first two chapters.

The first chapter is really good but I found the rest disappointing.
