I received an ARC of 'The Secret Lives of Superhero Wives' from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say, this is one of the most entertaining books I've read in a while. It made me laugh, it made me angry, it made me (almost) sob in joy...it has it all. It's about three couples: Emma and Estevan (my favorite), Vance and Victoria (the funniest - it was so fun to watch them work through things, and Vance losing his memory was a great plot device, leading to many sweet moments), and finally, last but not least, Ariana and Adam (the newlyweds). I enjoyed how each couple faced different, yet similar, issues. Dealing with wanting a child. Jealousy and lack of communication in a new marriage. Old bitterness. It was really, really great to watch them work through it all, and when the wives all finally met, in the last three chapters or so...BEAUTIFUL. To summarize what I just said: This book had beautiful, recognizable, wonderful character development. It was so, so awesome to see the characters work through their problems, while dealing with the super villain's evil plot!

I thought Ariana was the most frustrating of the wives, but I'm glad she finally dealt with her problems. It was nice to see. Emma's problems were a little sadder, but I loved how things turned out for her, and how entertaining her and Estevan's relationship was - they were the most stable, and Emma's spoon-feeding of plans was cute (he knew what was happening, of course). And Vance and Victoria were great together. It was nice to learn about their past marriage and see them work their way into a new future.

Oh, and I enjoyed seeing the wives kick ass - both behind the scenes, for most of the book, piecing lots of the evil plan together, and at the end, where there was some good old fashioned kick ass action.

My overall thoughts? This book was a riot. It had AMAZING character development, and an entertaining plot. 5 stars.
