For 100 Days is the first book in Lara Adrian's newest trilogy. The entire trilogy follows Avery Ross and Dominik Bane and the books are definitely not stand alone stories. I have been a fan of Ms. Adrian's for years, so I was really excited when I read about this story. Unfortunately for me, the book fell flat. I wasn't really invested in the story until abut 75% of the way through and I found myself putting the book down to do other things. That is very unusual for me. Normally once I start a book you don't see me until it's done. Now, despite saying that, this wasn't a bad story, it just didn't grip me the way that many books have in the past. Going into this book I didn't realize two things that may have made me reconsider reading it. Those two thing are that the story ends in a cliffhanger and that the book is told in first person from one character's perspective. I'm not a fan of either of those things. I can deal with first person if I must, but it makes for a better story (at least to me) when I get both characters perspectives. The fact that this story ended in a cliffhanger with serious tension between the two main characters does make me want to read more, but I will proceed with the rest of this series with caution. I give this book 3 stars because to me it was only okay. I will continue with the rest of this series, but not necessarily as soon as the books come out.

I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I've been a huge fan of Lara Adrian's ever since I first read her Deeper Than Midnight and totally fell in love with her Midnight Breed series! After reading nothing but her paranormal and one of her historical romances, I have to say it was definitely a new experience to read her write just contemporary. It was quite the experience though, Ms. Adrian did an amazing job with For 100 Days - I absolutely loved, loved, loved it!!

Avery is one tough cookie, she's been through so much and she's still standing. She's not as strong as she can be though, but she has gotten stronger and I have no doubts that she will only continue to do so. Although Avery is tough, she's not rough or grouchy or surly - she's kind, soft, and understanding. She has her ups and downs but she's very likable - I know I loved her!

Dominic Blaine. Oh my GOSH, that man is sexy - like one Ms. Adrian's sexiest heroes ever! He's intense, passionate, driven, dominant, and commanding. Nick is possessive and protective and even though he's cold and distant at times, it's obvious that he cares about Avery very much. It was impossible for me and Avery both not to fall for him and I know he will make you fall too!

For 100 Days is full of mystery, secrets, lies, and passion. It is a beautiful, seductive tale that will make your heart ache, beat faster, and melt. It made me laugh and sigh, made my eyes go wide and made me gasp, and it only made me want more, more, more! It was the perfect way to start a new series and I can't wait to read For 100 Nights and find out what happens next!

For 100 Days is the first book in the 100 Series, it's told only from Avery's POV, and even though Nick and Avery are together, the cliffhanger will most likely drive you crazy and eager for the next book!

I like billionaire heros. I like Lara's Breed series. Not so much this one. I found myself eye rolling and skipping the sex scenes. There isn't much of a plot unless you call a down on her luck heroine who meets a dominant billionaire and falls in love. Yes there are aspects of it I enjoyed, namely her best friend and the secret of her mother was a bit different.. Not sure if I'm going to up to reading For 100 Nights.

I'm a fan of Lara Adrian so when I read that she wrote a book in the same genre of 50 Shades and Crossfire was I was intrigued. It is a good read. Kind of quick but pretty good. In this first book you learn more about Avery than you do about Dominic but you still get to learn it about each of their pasts but it leaves you on a cliffhanger, so I'm immensely grateful that the whole series is published and I can begin reading the next installment immediately. I'm intrigued by these two characters and dying to learn more.

I've always enjoyed Lara Adrian's vampire romance series, Midnight Breed, so I was particularly interested to hear she'd written a fun, seductive contemporary romance series based on a heroine down on her luck and an enigmatic hero with secrets of his own.

To sum this one up briefly: I found this highly entertaining!

For the longer review, where do I begin? The heroine was an interesting character with many hidden depths. She hasn't had the best of luck for most of her life and because of her unfortunate background, she's learnt from a young age to always be on her guard, not rely on anyone and to work hard to survive. She's had a tough road but she continually tries to keep her head up.

The hero is the typical tall, dark and handsome, rich alpha with secrets up to his eyeballs... so you know I was immediately hooked! This roguish hero introduces the heroine to a whole new world and it was so fun to watch them both change and grow. The heroine learns to let people in, accept help from others and take chances in her life. Vice versa, the hero learns to let someone in as well and take into considerations someone else's feelings, likes and dislikes, and overall wellbeing. The perpetual bachelor has met his match.

For 100 Days is book one in a trilogy (although the series does extend to include additional side characters as the new leads). This book mainly focuses on the building of their relationship and certain aspects of the heroine's upbringing, so if you like character-driven books like myself, you'll enjoy this one a lot. But for those who like plot-focused stories with lots of action, don't worry because book two, For 100 Nights, is where things really start to pick up. As always Lara Adrian's writing and storytelling ability is addictive and I found myself immediately hooked into this story. If you enjoy intense and seductive contemporary romances, you should definitely check this book out!

I received a copy of this book from netgalley for an honest review.

For 100 Days is a contemporary erotic romance, the first in the 100 Series. It tells the beginning of the tale of Dominic "Nick" Baine and Avery Ross. They meet when Avery goes to a building on Park Avenue to check out the apartment that she has been hired to house sit at for the next four months by a customer at the restaurant where she bartends. When she goes to get on the elevator, she runs into Nick, though she has no idea who he is, other than an extremely attractive man that seems to be able to stare straight into her soul. The next time they meet, she runs right into him again, at an art gallery in Manhattan that she had had paintings displayed, but the owner had them pulled so that they could put new artists work up. Avery is somewhat upset when she was at the gallery because of her work being pulled, it she also was moved to tears by a painting that was on display. As she claimed at the elevator, it was like Nick could see to her soul and he started asking her questions about what she thought about the painting, named 'Beauty'. It was a sensual and heartrending piece that brought out several emotions for Avery, and as she and Nick discussed it, they both became aroused. They decided to leave together, going back to Nick's apartment that ended up being the penthouse in the building Avery was house sitting in. This is the beginning of their relationship.

They both have secrets that they don't share with anyone, though Avery starts feeling as if maybe she should open up to him. But fear of how he'll feel about her when he learns of her secrets keeps her quiet. Nick starts opening slowly, beginning with the small secrets and working his way toward the more important ones. This is how their relationship goes for 100 days.

I believe that this book should have perhaps been tagged as New Adult, by the way the relationship matured throughout the book. Maybe I got this impression because Avery had never had a relationship before, so her side at least went more like a college student rather than a 25 year old woman. But that is something outside of the story, which I did enjoy. I had some difficulty getting into the story to begin with, but once it started picking up, I wanted to know their secrets too. I wanted to know how they would climb the next wall between them.

I would recommend this book to any fan of contemporary or New Adult erotic romance. Though this is no 50 Shades, it is heavy on the erotic scenes, so it's definitely for readers that are 18+. If you are a fan of these categories, I would recommend this to you. There are some beautifully written descriptions from when the couple travels and of the scenery outside the Park Avenue apartments. Those scenes are worth a lot on their own. In fact all scenes are quite descriptive, leaving hardly any detail out. Grab a copy and get started on the journey with Nick and Avery today!

For 100 Days by Lara Adrian is a book I found while I was skimming upcoming releases and I am happy I came across it. From start to finish this book held my attention and I wanted more of these characters.

Things are starting to fall apart for Avery. Her artwork is being let go from the gallery she has it with, her job isn’t making her happy, and she has to figure out where she is going to live since she won’t be able to stay in her apartment. When she crosses paths with someone at the bar she works with who just happens to need someone to stay at her apartment for the next 4 months, Avery makes the decision to take a chance and accept the deal.

When Avery runs into Dominic Baine (literally) she is immediately drawn to him. After a second run in with him, she does something she wouldn’t normally do – she decides to leap into what she thinks will be a one night stand with him. I liked Avery but she was keeping a lot of secrets from Nick even though she had plenty of opportunity to tell him the truth. I really wanted her to come clean with him and tell him everything.

Nick is definitely an alpha who is used to getting what he wants. He doesn’t normally do relationships but there is something about Avery that draws him in. The relationship these two have is based a lot on the fact that they have great sex but as Nick opens up to Avery, she is drawn more and more to him. The problem Avery has is that her secrets are staring her right in the face.

Overall I thought this story was well done and I can’t wait to see what Adrian has in store for the next installment. If you are looking for a book that has solid characters, steamy bits, and an engaging story, definitely check this one out.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the review copy!
