This is a superbly strange book. The Cursed Pirate Girl is journeying the Omerta Sea, looking for her father. The problem is, she doesn't know his name, and what she remembers of him is from dreams. It's clear, however, that there is something magical about her -- not to mention swashbuckling.

The book's garnered a lot of comparisons to Alice In Wonderland, and that's fairly appropriate. It's surreal and beautiful, and deserves to be read whilst listening to things like "The Mariner's Revenge Song" by The Decemberists.

My only real complaint is that the illustrations are so intricate and the speech bubbles so small that it can sometimes be hard to read and follow. I feel that this book would have really benefited from publication in an oversize format, so as to do the illustrations justice.
