These are fine.  Not amazing, but entertaining enough.  Wish my library had them as audiobooks.

Finally picked up books 2 & 3 in the series recently on a birthday splurge and found this one to be perfect airplane reading during my trip to Idaho. This Maine mystery focused on a dead body found in the Snowden family clambake oven. Who

This cozy mystery series has everything that makes me love this genre: a good mystery, a cast of well developed characters, an interesting setting, and insight into different aspects of regional culture that I hadn't known about before.

This is a conventional cozy. Set in Maine along the coast with colorful characters. It's warm and, well, cozy.
The mystery is a good one, but what I like the most is watching Julia. She came back to her hometown to help out the family business, get it back on its feet then head back to New York to her career and life. I like watching her interaction with her family and the townspeople. She doesn't think she has friends, that she doesn't belong. I like the little nudges that happen throughout the book that I hope she is heeding. Especially I hope she heeds how she feels about Chris, her bad boy crush from her teen years.
I really like this series and look forward to downloading and reading the third book, MUSSELED OUT.
Definite recommend.
