I'm honestly speechless. I started to lose a little interest in this series in the middle of Heir of Fire but this book brought the reason I love this series so much. Rowan and Aelin are too cheesy. Still shipping Dorian and Aelin.

Because I can't think of much else--because the action and plot blew me straight the fuck away--I'm gonna lay down my endgame ship predictions here, just for fun.
WestFaliq (Chaol/Nesryn). DoriAelin (Dorian/Aelin). LysAideon (Lysandra/Aideon). I'm certain none of these ship names are right. Uhh...YEAH! Good stuff! Read this series if you haven't done that yet. It's good.

Edit, 12/6/17:
After a lot of rumination I finally broke. I no longer feel love in my heart for anything Throne of Glass and, while the first book and The Assassin's Blade are still going to remain on my "Best Books" shelf, the rest of the books' ratings are changing to reflect how I currently feel about them and the series as a whole rather than how I felt right after I actually read them. I have almost zero respect for Sarah J. Maas as a writer and her integrity as a writer--or lack thereof--just makes me sad, makes me long for what could have been.

Very interesting to read without any expectations
One of the best endings to anything I’ve ever read or consumed
Also lol at 18/19 year old me refusing to call her Aelin, oh how I’ve grown

2019/2020 (4 stars)
I’ve so many thoughts I’m not quite sure where to begin yet
So my thoughts, this is my least favourite instalment of the series so far. It was still great writing and entertainment and I get why the story went the way it did. But I just didn’t love it as much. For numerous reasons but let’s first go trough what happened.
-Celaena’s return to Rifthold
-Valg princes everywhere
-Aedion being saved
-Chaol being a rebel
-Rowan showing up
-Arobynn being killed
-Dorian being prisoner of his own body
-Lysandra being a shapesifter
-Manon and Vernon and Elide
-I kinda stopped hating Manon?
-kaltain and Nesryn and Perrington
-Chaol and Celaena wanting to kill Dorian
-Celaena not caring that Chaol was dying
-Rowan and Celaena
-Dorian winning from the valg because of his love for Chaol
-Dorian killing his Father
-Dorian and Chaol reuniting
-Chaol crippled god damnit
-Celaena being selfish and annoying
I’m just not that happy with the direction Celaena’s character is headed can’t she see she belongs with Chaol like she obviously sees it that’s why he’s the only person she isn’t nice too. And what is this all of the sudden trading in Dorian and Chaol for people she has been friends with for a month or like a week. I just can’t feel the chemistry between her and Rowan it just doesn’t feel right and just I don’t know maybe I feel disappointed.
And just knowing Dorian I think he wouldn’t handle killing his father that well it just feels like he would struggle with it more same for Celaena with Arobynn. And like I know Aedion is her cousin but she hadn’t seen him in ten years that whole relationship and reunion I mean they were small children they would be like strangers after ten years for real that just seemed forced. Just as her relationship with Rowan and Chaol’s one with Nesryn and the one blooming between Dorian and Manon although that one seems less forced that the previously stated. I just aren’t too excited to read a book of Celaena and Rowan in a relationship but knowing Celaena her relationship don’t last longer than give or take two months so.
Don’t get me wrong tough still love Celaena and Dorian and Chaol and this series but yeah the first two books in the castle before all the queen stuff were my faves.

This book was pretty epic, I loved the tension and the high stakes. There some awesome redemption moments and set up for another great book.

The best book I’ve ever read. The best book so far in the series. Unreal.

I don’t really know how I feel about this book. I just don’t really ship Aelin and Rowan. I really liked Rowan in heir of fire and him and Aelin just being friends (which was communicated to the reader a bunch of times in that book) but I just don’t really care about them as a couple. Chaol was my favorite character and SJM kinda did him dirty. I guess I’m still kinda heartbroken that they’re not endgame.
