A cold slap of reality in the face of indifference. Natalie Harkin tackles very intense issues affecting people who are constantly silenced and ignored, from A to Z. She tackles complex issues like Indigenous sovereignty and quotes politicians before tearing apart their hatred and lies. Beautifully written with zero tolerance for bullshit and no patience for fools, Dirty Words is a masterpiece of protest poetry. I recommend it highly.

I really liked this collection of poems. I was looking through at this through the lens of what's forgotten in Australian history, so it definitely got me thinking. It makes me really sad that no one seems to have read this.
