I gave this book 3 stars not because I don’t like the story. I think the story is great. I just wasn’t captured right away with how it was written. I think I had to reread a few lines here and there because I got confused somewhere along the way.
Other than that, the story in itself was intense. I think that if there was a story that made me feel a certain way, this sure did it.
The amount of times that I asked myself, why didn’t it go another direction is definitely up there. I’m sure that whatever goal the writer intended for the reader to feel, I definitely felt it.

I WANTED to love this... but no. Just didn't. It started out slow, but I stuck in there. It began to pick up some steam about halfway through, but not enough. Then the ending was horrible. Just awful!
The characters are bleh, and the story line is just ok. I feel like it was an ok idea, but just fell flat, completely. I certainly won't be reading the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this book!
The mystery part was hyped up too much in my perspective. So I didn't really care for the ending. But the rest of the book was really good. There were some great moments and some dark moments in there.
