Who Wants A Cheap Rhinoceros? is a great classic from Shel Silverstein. The book features all black and white hand drawn illustrations, as is typical of the author. Although it appears long, there are very few words on each page so it is a quick read. The texts features quips narrated by the child in the story. Each picture has it's own page and is not bordered, but rather takes up as much space of the page as it needs and the words are placed in the free space.

This story is about a young boy who wants to sell his rhinoceros. He lists the many features of the rhino, including what he's good at and good for. It becomes clear that the boy has formed a bond with the rhino. They have become a strange pair of friends during their time together.

This was a cute book that made me smile. Along the ideas of the song "All I Want for Christmas is a Hippopotamus". If only owning a rhino where so easy!

Pictures surpass the text. Unlike other Shel Silverstein that I've read, nothing thoughtworthy and no moral here. I didn't like the page "He is good for yelling at" and for that, only give it 2 stars.

Holy rhinoceros, this book was hilarious. It kept me and my 7-year-old laughing throughout. I hadn't read it before, but it's classic Silverstein. Good stuff.

I’m not sure why we have this one in traditional Chinese, but I have strong sentimental associations of it with cozy days and bedtimes spent reading with my parents. The whimsical illustrations and silly suggestions really appealed to me as a kid, and I read it so many times that even now, literally ten years later, I can still recite several sections by heart.

I think this is one of my new favorite children's books! Shel Silverstein's books and poetry are always so creative and fun. This was no exception. Lists all the positive and negatives of having a pet rhinoceros.
