Great illustrations, but I didn't love the rhyming text. Why does it have to rhyme? The premise was decent.

Super adorable book about penguins and friends heading on an adventure. They go to a new place, meet new friends, and find their way home.

Cute story but the illustrations really make it shine with lots of little surprises and fun details to find.

A very cute book, written in rhyme, that shows the adventure penguin has when he is taken away on a kite. The animals work together to help penguin and get back home. The pictures are small so it would make a better one-on-one story.

A cute - if relatively bland - rhyming story about a penguin who gets whisked away to a jungle island via kite. Other arctic animal friends (who try in vain to stop his ascent) get whisked along with him, which is a bummer, but at least it means he has help with figuring out how to get off that dang island. A parachute made out of jungle foliage is fashioned, and a hearty gust from an elephant's trunk sends them sailing back to their home. My favorite part of the whole book were the cute little swirls in the water. I don't know why -- I just think little cinnamon bun swirls are the cutest things!!

This is a lovely children's book, which is the Waterstones' Children's Book of the Month for April.
It's a delightfully illustrated story about a penguin who is swept away with his kite, and all of his friends who get caught up in the adventure too.
The illustrations are crisp, clear and full page, with dynamic text positioning, allowing for some lovely games when reading with your kids. There are lovely details to look for, extra hidden bits to read and numbers to practice counting.

Plus it is all super cute with penguins and monkeys and stuff!

I'm glad I bought this. It is the start of my collection of children's picture books, which I am gathering for my future children, and what a lovely way to start the collection!

A nice rhyming story for a kite storytime. Or a travel storytime. Or a silly storytime.
