This was great. I think kids will enjoy it, especially the bit where it talks about the poop and eating habits of rabbits. It was cute and a bit disgusting at the same time. Everything a second grader wants in a book.

Denne ble litt vel enkel, men treffer sikkert målgruppa bedre.

Kids laughed out loud a lot. Book felt long when reading out loud.

As an answer to all those animal stories where everyone is painfully well-behaved, Gough and Field carnivalise the whole thing by having a poo-eating, rather grumpy rabbit - slave to his own adaptive genes and a rather placid, wonderful female bear. Together we have a series of very funny escapades, which my four year-old loved and mum found plain stupid, with a good dose of animal facts thrown in for good measure (I liked these bits). For those children that like a spicy sense of humour and are just being welcomed into the world of early, independent reading then this is going to do down a storm.

cute and simple with lots of potential science curriculum tie-ins.

The first of the Rabbit and Bear series, Julian Gough's Rabbit's Bad Habits is a funny and ultimately sweet tale of friendship. I particularly loved Jim Field's blue-tinged illustrations and the map endpapers - definitely becoming one of my favourite illustrators.
