"She’d started to think of him as a cup of coffee: black, with a shot of gingerbread syrup curled up at the bottom. Someone just needed to stir him up and make him sweet all the way through."

After not vibing with Talia Hibbert's other Christmas novella, Merry Inkmas really blew me away!! It's a steamy, angsty but also sweet romance that I had a lot of fun reading. Bailey is a caring barista who loses her job when she helps one of the homeless people in her area. It just so happens that Cash - the owner of a tattoo studio nearby - witnesses all of this and offers her a job as his receptionist. I loved the chemistry between Bailey and Cash, it was clear that they wanted each other and I was rooting for them to get it together!

At the same time, the author managed to explore their background stories really well! Cash is a bit of a bad boy with a temper, but he never becomes aggressive with Bailey and is trying his hardest to leave behind his past (which includes an abusive father). You can understand where he's coming from and why he's still hesitant to get involved with Bailey and give her his heart. Meanwhile, Bailey also had a tough past that she doesn't like talking about and makes it difficult for her to get attached. I liked how they both worked through their issues and tried their best to make it work!

Aww I really liked this! I did think things suddenly got really serious and intense between Cash and Bailey v quickly towards the end but otherwise thought this was p well done :) this was one of the only books of Talia Hibbert’s backlist I hadn’t read and while it’s not an absolute favorite by any means I did like it a lot more than I expected given that it’s a Christmas book
Will say did nott love the Harry Potter references but it’s from 2017 so like I get it

This was not my favorite Thalia hibbert book unfortunately. I thought it was going to be a slam dunk Christmas romcom but cash was a touch too tortured artist for my tastes. Also the very very serious physical abuse plotline was jarring!!!!!!!!!!! Like I read this book for an escape!!!!! Bailey seemed lovely and I’m glad they both found peace, but I am annoyed that cash found peace because of Bailey and not because he did the emotional labor himself.

I really like Hibbert’s balance of plot and character, comforting but also not boring. This is a short and sweet holiday read.

This was short, and sweeter than I had expected! Yes I imagined there would be sexy parts but the heart behind it was really lovely.

Another quick and saucy romance from Hibbert that was fun from start to finish. I love how full of life her characters are even if their stories are only going to be short.
