Strip out the Official Guide part, and you've got a winner.
Frankly, for an "Official Guide" that spans 7 books, this companion should be a lot bigger.
However, the illustrations (although relatively uninteresting to me) were beautiful and the details that are written about each character, setting and book were interesting.
The section about the Lewis himself was somewhat lackluster, especially given how much his books (not just Narnia) burst full of philosophical questions and revelation. Reading about Lewis made him seem boring, and everyone knows he was anything but boring.
