Before I started reading this book, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect of it. But, I knew from the very time that I had heard about this that I wanted to read it. The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Series is one of my favorites and I was interested in learning more about the characters. When I started reading, I wasn’t even really sure what the book was totally going to be about, so I was very interested to find out!
From the very beginning of the book you see a different side of Billy the Kid, when he is talking about his immortality. He seems almost like a different character in this book than in the main series, which I liked. I liked how Scathnach and Billy have an adventure together just a short time after meeting. I also really enjoyed the action between Billy, Scathnach and the vampyres of Vegas. This made it seem even more like a part of the series.
When Scathnach finally finds who she is looking for, (I won’t say who!), was when I really started to enjoy the book. If only it were longer! There was so much more that I would love to know about the two, and what happened earlier to get to this point.
Overall, I really enjoyed this eBook! I could get used to reading lots of these to pass the time while waiting for the next book in the series.

Now this one, (compared with the short story about the Death of Joan of Arc) was really good! It added to the characters and told a really fun story.

Another short story from the Michael Scott's Nicholas Flamel books. This was a quick and fun read but, like the Joan of Arc story, left me wanting more. I wonder if these were ideas that Michael Scott had for the Nicholas Flamel series but ended up on the cutting room floor and then got published as a kind of "deleted scenes".

This was great! I would love it if Michael Scott continued to expand on the 'Nicholas Flamel' universe this way.

This was a quick read but a fun side story or background story to the Nicholas Flamel series. I loved those books and read them long ago and recently came across this. Decided to give it a read and was surprised at how much I remembered of the main series.

This one was so entertaining actually, since it gave a glimpse not only into Billy the kid life but on Scathach life as well, and the friendship they have is pretty cool actually and it was a good thing that they met in this particular time.

I liked the pace of the story and the fun Billy was having with all of this troubles that went down with Scathach and the peculiar shadow over her heart.

I love The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series and I love that Mr Scott has taken the time to provide us with these short stories that add more depth and history to our favorite characters. Of course I wish the story were longer, but this one takes one of our favorite characters, Scatty, and shows yet another side to her. And the bonus of getting more of the adorable Billy the Kid is just the cherry on top. The story is interesting, fast paced, and while it is set a few years before the series, the events tie into what we have learned about these characters so easily.

If you were not a fan of the series before reading this one, you will be! And you will be running out to pick up the series so you can find just how these events are connected. If you are a fan of the series, well, you probably want more like me, but are thrilled to get this adventure of Scatty and Billy the Kid.
