it’s typical academy bully romance. the set up though is kind of weak. her cousin obsessing over dudes and saying they bullied her while she keeps stalking them?so she killed herself?  idk man seems like the main character should have done more research. the first chapter and i knew her cousin was in the wrong and my guess she’s the big bad.

the main character knows nothing about magical beings or normal humans. not to mention she is not the most street smart character and can’t make up her mind. it’s hard to root for someone who has a weak conviction. i get it the guys are hot but is she not here for revenge? she will be like yes i am going to give them hell and then worries about their well-being. being in her brain gives me whiplash.

the guys like most reverse harems and not fleshed out but it is what it is.

other than the mfcs weak conviction and reason for revenge. it was easy to read and fun in a candy is bad for you kinda way.

on to the next book

The plot was taking way too long to develop. I also felt that there were a lot of similarities in regards to certain characters and even almost-quotes from ACOTAR. This has a good premise, but I am just really struggling to get into it. I may return back eventually.

I'm still fairly new to RH books but am finding more and more that I really enjoy them. I jumped at the chance to read and review this - especially when I saw that she has written all four books, and the second releases within just a few days. The beginning was a bit rough - I didn't realize until I was about halfway through that there was a prequel and most likely the things I wasn't sure of were probably all addressed there. However, by a third in I was completely hooked and didn't want to put this book down. I loved all the intrigue - just as Mia is trying to figure her way through things, we as the reader are trying to as well right along with her. I also enjoyed that we get each of the guys POV at some point along the way. I'm not always a fan in RH of getting their POV, but here it's so well done. Just little glimpses here and there and with each one they have their own distinctive voice so it works really well. I'm on to book two already - liked this one that much!

3.5/5. I liked it enough to want to keep reading. It has some interesting ideas and I want to know what happens next, but some parts felt really predictable to me.

Not what I expected. I thought it was going to be basic smut with an ok story behind it. It was a decent story with some romance creeping towards the border of smut. This is the first book and if my assumption is correct, it is outline the next 3 books. There is some definite character and world building going on. There's the typical outcasts and mean girls. The sexy boys are way deeper than their surface beauty (surprise! Lol).
