This book was fantastic! I was entertained by the story, the whole time I was reading it. I learned so much about Francis Perkins and what incredible lady she was. I highly recommend this book.

Absolutely LOVED this book.

I did not learn about Frances Perkins, and her ground-breaking role in FDR's cabinet, until just a few years ago.  So, when I learned that one of my favorite historical fiction authors was set to publish a book about her, I was very excited!  THIS BOOK DELIVERED!

It’s crazy so many things happened in her life which I respect but this really just shows how hard it is to balance work and personal life.

The commitment that she has to choose is just both as difficult and in many ways is she lucky and unlucky at the same time.

To be able to have such a great husband that respects the way she thinks but yet unable to have him sustain such sanity is truly saddening that human minds are just as strong as they are weak.

It's hard to say whether I like the book because of Frances or because of Dray's writing. As I knew nothing about Frances Perkins, I found her fascinating. Her accomplishments still affect the US today. However formidable her professional life, her personal life is heart-wrenching.
