So grateful for my professor and the books she’s introduced to me this semester. I can’t wait to read more Muriel Spark

I knew eventually I was going to run into a Spark novel I didn't care for :( While the satire and sharp writing I expect from her was in full form here I found the characters and the plot very boring. Most characters that she writes are flawed, silly or shallow, but yet there is something engaging or interesting about them that pulls you into the narrative. This book though did nothing for me. It just felt incredibly long drawn and pointless though there were some very funny bits especially after the plot twist.
