I’ve read this book several times. I adore it so so much. I love the age gap. I love that they are soulmates and I love that this is a rockstar relationship. I’m obsessed with how this book ended and I highly recommend everyone read this! Please please please read this book. You will be blown away!!

Steamy and sweet. It's the first Hollywood romance I've read where it isn't a sweet girl-next-door nobody who meets a Hollywood star.

Oh my gosh!!! Yes. Yes! YES!!!!!

Is it hot? Hell yeah.
Is it romantic? Duh.
Is it everything you expect from Laurelin Paige? Abso-freaking-lutely!!

It's hot, steamy, and fun. It's got giggle like a school girl moments, snicker behind your hand spots, and head back and laugh moments too. Ms. Paige has captured the innocence of a new relationship, the chemistry of a chemical burn, and the heat of wildfires that plague California. Nothing about this book will turn you off. It is without a doubt a complete and total turn on!

The characters, the doubts, the passion are real and felt through the words. This book makes the reader a part of this fairytale. You aren't relegated to reading words. No, this story makes you the characters. It makes you the writer of the story.

And I'm sorry to break my no hints rules but this quote is so real it had to be shared...

“When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”

So did I like it...? No, I freaking love it. Close...the meaning...sigh. The meaning behind the title makes me swoon. Don't take my word for it though, enjoy the butterflies in your stomach, the need a little further south, and the hearts in your eyes. Just remember, Nick Ryder is the one who put them there!

In theory, Close should be a hit. It has so many tropes I love: a rock star romance, a Hollywood romance, an older woman-younger man romance. That enticing combination had me eager to read this book, so it’s especially disappointing that it falls flat.

The story misses many opportunities to be better than average. Part of a good Hollywood love story is feeling like you’re getting a glimpse into the ups and downs and inner workings of showbiz. I never got a real sense of what it is like for Natalia to be a superstar.

Natalia is extremely worried about ruining her good girl image, but I didn’t understand why she considers Nick to be a bad boy. He is a former boy band heartthrob who is now a rock star, but he isn’t someone who is known for sleeping around, getting drunk, or getting into trouble. What’s the big deal?

Despite all the sexy times, I did not feel an intense chemistry between Nick and Natalia. At first he only seems into her because he had a crush on her growing up. Eventually, he proves that he is thoughtful and romantic, but she just seems sex-starved and scared all the time. The age gap isn’t a big issue for Natalia until the end of the book, when it is haphazardly thrown in as a way to force friction between her and Nick.

For me, this book misses the mark by a mile.

This was my first listen by Laurelin Paige. It’s the story of Natalia & Nick. Both are entertainers and have to deal with the paparazzi meddling in their lives. They start seeing each other under the guise of it being a one night stand then that turns into friends with benefits. Natalia struggles with the fact that there is a big age gap between them (Natalia is 36 & Nick is 23) Before they know it, it’s turned into a relationship. But Natalia struggles with her feelings & the pressures of society. This read is the perfect rock star/actress story! It’s hot & steamy. And I totally felt the magnetism between them. Total swoon! You must read this book. I will definitely be listening to it again in the future.

A bad boy rock star & America's sweetheart start a secret fling that turns to more.  A 13 year age gap has Natalia clinging to her idea that it can't work out because of age and she lets the media portray her how they want rather than who she really is.  Nick has been on his own since he was sixteen, is established,  and knows what he wants and he wants Natalia.  Their time spent together is more than sex and has Natalia running.  Nat's a little whiny and exasperating where Nick is pretty mature for his age.  Spicy sex and an actual get to know each other relationship is a fast read for this stand alone. (Jonas & Jake's books are written by another author so I don't know if I'll read them.)
