Although I had to read it for school, it wasn`t that bad. In the beginning I thought it was a bit weird because of a few scenes but in the end I learned to appreciate them because they were important for the plot. Still I wouldn`t recommend it to people below the age of 14.

This book stabbed me right in the goddamn chest from literally page 1. The movie really doesn’t do it justice, not even close

I listened to this on a borrow through my library and was completely enraptured. The narrator was the author and she was fantastic. I’m now set on buying a physical copy and intend on reading her other novels.

I don’t ever finish books in a day. Not even do I finish a book in a week, most of the time. I finished this one in about nine hours’ time on a sick day spent on the couch.

I wondered, as I read, how cathartic it must have been for the author to share these stories and hardships from her childhood. I love how she never blamed anyone for how things were, even when she wanted to; but instead, she just determined to do things on her own terms as soon as she made an opportunity for herself to do so. Her siblings’ stories were all so interesting as well.

I’d consider watching the movie, if I knew up front that it wouldn’t ruin this book for me. I always have that fear when it comes to a good book.

I’ve been wanting to read this for quite awhile so I’m glad I finally got to it. At times it just made me angry though how insane these parents are especially when Jeannette told her parents about gross men and they ignored her, on top of all the other stuff they did. Good story though I couldn’t put it down. Yea. It’s also so crazy to think that there’s still people living like this when I and everyone I know live so much more privileged.

After having read "I'm glad my Mom died", I got this masterpiece recommended to me, and went on to read it, expecting a similar type of story or writing.

It was truly not.

This book moved me to tears at times, brought me unending anger, thorough joy and hope for whole chapters. The whole and entire emotion thesaurus went through me reading "The Glass Castle", and I'm both utterly impressed by the writing itself and by the story it's telling. This was a stellar piece of literature and one absolutely remarkable life.

Glad I read this.
