MWT's plotting, character developments, literary devices usage, world-building, is chef's kiss. 100 stars. I very much look forward to the rest of the series.

Megan Whalen Turner writes some of the most complex, yet still logical, character interactions I’ve ever read. She is a goddamn genius and I’m blown away every time I read one of her books.

Another masterpiece, probably a little slower and with less Gen (its biggest flaw) but I read it in 2 days only bc I wasn't home for most of one.

look, there is no other series so intricately built, so intelligent, so smart in its hints and build-up and i will make it my DYING HILL to convince everyone i know to read these books. i am so glad they're getting reprinted and finally finding an audience <3

I love this series so, so much. I don't have words to say how incredible everything about it is. So incredibly smart....
And somehow, the older I grow, the more relatable the struggles of fictional characters start being. rip.

Did you really expect me not to read another book in this series in only one sitting?
Yep, I am pretty much obsessed and sold with no return to The Queen's Thief .

((I must admit though I would have liked more of the queen.... and the thief))

A very solid book, amazingly written as always. The pure-heartedness of Sophos is so refreshing after the cynical, serious, cruel personalities of the central characters before. Not my favorite in the series, but I see its value in setting up future story lines as well as tying in ones that have been planted since the very first book,
For example, Eddis’s marriage with Sounis, and the volcanic explosion threatening Eddis
.

This is the book that made me realize just how superior this series is to others, as the story doesn’t just progress as time goes on. Rather, the story unfolds itself, exactly the way it should, and as it was planted in the beginning. It sort of reminds me of prophecies, where the fate of the characters are already laid out, and everything happens as it should, just not as expected. Overall I am glad to have read this book, and objectively I see its quality, I just wasn’t as emotionally invested in this as I was for the second and third book.

What this book did for me is make me realize that Attolia is my favorite country among the three.
I was filled with delight when Sophos left Sounis and went to Attolia.
I think Eddis would be my favorite as well,  however we never really spend much time there in the story :( I hope Eddis would be a more central character too because her success in gaining the trust of her countrymen is really unique compared to whatever the hell the Attolias and Sounis are doing.
I also loved seeing Gen and Sophos bond. Theyre just two little guys. who are also kings.

So glad to have Sophos' story. The author's seamless ability to switch between first and third person and take a semi-omniscient view will never cease to amaze me.

Another excellent book in the Queen's Thief series. As per usual, it was filled with twists and turns and things I didn't expect. Loving this series.

This story is probably my favorite. Sophos is a great lead, and I find the POV voice changes to be next level.
