I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would based on the connected one I just read. It's about a mountain man (Wyatt) pushing forty who wants to be a dad, so he tries to find a surrogate. Has no luck but his niece Everly (the kid from the last book, who is now 18) finds a woman (Trista) who was also denied by the same agency because she 'doesn't meet their weight requirements' (gross) and convinces them to meet. They make a contract, insemination happens, but uhoh they're actually attracted to each other and now she's living in the apartment above his barn. The friend group and family are back, there are a ton of animals (she's being a surrogate cuz she doesn't want her own kids but needs money to open an animal shelter), and I look forward to reading the other two brothers' stories when they're released and going back to read more of the previous series after all.

What a roller coaster of a book. There were parts that were really emotional but also parts where the characters were super annoying and frustrating.
