Wasn't too fond of the alternating narrative. When I read an Odd book I want to hear Odd's voice overall a good part 2.

Not bad...a return to his earlier work involving "reasonable extensions" of existing recombinant DNA research, coupled with the fantasy of Odd's...oddities. Better than others of his more recent works, but still wordier than he used to be. Too much inane chatter from the characters, and overuse of "SAT" words, as my kids like to call them.

Too often Koontz diverged into little rambles, especially with the character of Jolie. Explaining it in the the third book doesn't excuse the relatively pointless sidelining of the story. Another BIG issue is Koontz's inability to reconcile his need for pop culture references with the actual time frame of the stories. If the original book was set in the year of its publication (or even a year before when he wrote it), then Justin Bieber is not even a household name yet in these stories. I liked the suspense of the middle, but I struggled with the delivery and it detracted from my overall enjoyment.

Great 2nd part to a terrific series. Let's hope the lead up the exciting conclusion is not a let down!

It's getting a little weird, but I still like it.

Second of three so it's still hard to judge the work yet.

This novella follows perfectly from the first in the trilogy. I actually read all the books back to back and thought of them as a wonderful 'book'. Odd Thomas you are the best and I look forward with anticipation to reading Odd Apocalypse. Highly recommend this interlude.
