Excellent book on family of vehicles used by Russian special military and law enforcement units. Author goes through all type of vehicles, from quads to light armored vehicles, wheeled armored transports and heavy armored tracked APCs to specialized vehicles for riot control, area security and sub-zero and snow operations. I also liked sections mentioning use of live stock for movement and cargo carrying - mechanization can do only so much.

Only issue I have is with the author's need to add comments like vehicles are good but they will need like-forever to enter service in Russia (like Stryker and any other modern combat vehicle got produced within a year or two, on average production, testing and introduction take between 3 and 6 years) or [now almost traditional] "black/white" view of the world, we good, they bad when it comes to power projection outside the borders (I guess only some nations can do it). Considering that author is renown authority on international relations and military these simplistic views on international relations seem very .... childish.

Again, nothing new when it comes to the author's works. It is cringey but does not deduct in any way from the main subject and materiel of the book.

Recommended to military hardware aficionados.
