A cute story that I'll use to introduce the writing process to my 1st graders (maybe second?) Of course, I'll need a mirror to set up!

Lucky Sam, the mouse, gets to live in a library! He loves to read lots of different types of books, and one day he decides to write some books of his own. He leaves his books for others to find and sure enough, he becomes a big hit with library patrons. When asked to give an author talk, he chooses to make the children the authors instead by giving them tiny mouse-sized books of their own to write in.

This would be a fun book for encouraging students to publish their own writing, and to introduce the writing process, especially brainstorming ideas.

A simple story about a mouse who lives in a library and is *spolier alert* struck with the idea to become an author. While I feel I've heard this story before, (definitely seems pretty similar to, albeit much shorter than, The World According to Humprehy), I gave it 4 stars, because of it's diversity, inspirational message, and utterly clean content.

Sam was a library mouse. He lives just off the children's reference section in the library. During the day when the library is bustling with people, Sam sleeps. But at night he has the library to himself and he reads everything that he can. Pretty soon Sam decides to write his own book and when he's done, he slips it in the correct section and waits. Soon Sam becomes the mysterious writer everyone is talking about. And there is more excitement every time a new book of his is found. But what will happen when everyone wants to meet Sam? Mice and humans don't always get along so well...

Really really cute. The illustrations creeped me out a little--but only because the humans are kind of scary looking. Otherwise it's a delightful story with an interesting twist at the end.

There is a shy little mouse living in the library names Sam. One day he decides he will write and illustrate stories. He puts the stories on the shelf and the patrons and librarians soon enjoy his work and want to know who the writer is. I loved this cute story and it's set in the library!
