Drama, drama and more drama. First off don't judge this book by its cover or title. I thought it was MMA (I bought it because I have to read everything by Bella Jewel). I was very pleasantly surprised when the premises was about a bounty hunter, Grace, falling for her mark, Raide. I can't blame her. I fell for Raide, gorgeous alpha male to the extreme. Grace creates her own drama and lots of it. I don't usually snicker when I read, but Grace's plans to seduce and trap Raide were silly and she isn't a girly girl. I don't know what was worse her stalking or her stakeouts. At least she comes up with some interesting explanations. Grace didn't expect to fall for Raide. She just wanted to set him up for capture. What she captures is his heart and trust as she turns hers over to him. Raide soon discovers Grace's plans and drama explodes. He crushes her like a bug and flees. Break up drama was interesting. I didn't expect the hysteria. Someone needed to give that gal a box of tissues. Desperate times result in desperate measures. Grace has one goal and that is to prove Raide innocent, prove her love by proving him innocent. More drama! Grace can't stalk, can't seduce and can't succeed at undercover either. I just shook my head as the world came crashing down around Grace. What does all of this show? It shows that the author writes a believable story. She writes a story that sucks you in and keeps you hooked. She writes romance that is challenging. She makes you work for the HEA. I look forward to working for the next HEA when book 2 releases.

I felt like the first half of the novel went at a really great pace. But then the pace was shot to hell. At some points everything seemed to occur at once, or the plot would drag and drag and drag. I felt like the second half of the book was very hastily written as if the author had a deadline to make. It was definitely quantity over quality. I loved the beginning of the novel though, because it really illustrated Gracie as the badass she was (despite her name). But the romantic climax kind of occurred halfway through the book which felt awkward. And at some points, the clicheness (is that a word?) got to the point of being suffocating. All in all, I recommend this novel, but it really wasn't the best of Bella Jewel, but it is worth a read.

Once again, Bella Jewel, has given an off the charts, five star book! Bella is one of my favorite authors, so I will try not to fangirl to hard while writing this *snorts* I really don't even know where to start...this book has it all: characters I could connect with, an AWESOME storyline and most important - chemistry!

The herione was a kick-butt, take-no-crap woman but she still had a soft heart. The hero *sigh* who wouldn't love that man. Tall, dark, handsome, and cocky...he *fans self* definitely made me melt!

I read the book in one sitting and hung on every word because that's what Bella's books do to you. I definitely had the feels while reading this...parts of the story made me laugh, some parts made me want to cry, and the sex - well lets just say you have to read this book to find out (wink wink)! I promise you will not be disappointed!

This book deserves six stars, and even though five is the limit, I am giving it five-plus stars anyway! I'm a reviewer, I can do that, right (winks)? Bella I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in this series!

Hard to fight

Absolutely loved this story. Raide was a much bigger softie than I was expecting. While I knew grace was digging herself in deep with how she did things I totally understood her inability to stay away. So happy to finally find out raides story

Raide and Grace

While not as gritty as the MC series by Bella Jewel, I still loved the book and connection to that other world.

5 bounty hunting Stars

Hard to fight is the first book in the Alpha’s heart series by Bella Jewel.

Grace is a badass bounty hunter. She knows her way around criminals but is not taken too seriously by her boss and colleagues. Her dad was a bounty hunter himself and is her greatest supporter. Her mom and sisters not so much.
When she gets her first big case she's excited and wants to prove her boss that he'd made the right decision. There's just one tiny problem – Raide Knox is extra hot and makes her brain slightly mush. So what do you do, when the person you have to take in makes your heart race? Right – you seduce him.

To say Raide Knox’ childhood was not the best is an huge understatement. His dad is in jail and his mom left him and his sister when he was 14. After that he grew up in foster care.
Now he skipped bail, is on the run and his future looks not so bright.
When he meets a beautiful woman he's immediately drawn to her. But why is it, that he sees her everywhere? Did he got himself a stalker? That's the last thing he needs right now.

The banter between those two is great. Grace needs to take him in and wants to seduce him, but that doesn't mean she puts up with his shit. After one faithful night she doesn't know what to do. She has to turn him in but she's falling for him.

“You're under my skin.
And I can't fuckin’ get you out.
You made me feel again.
You made me want to fight.
You made me want to start again.
With you.”

This is a story about trust, betrayal, hope and love. I loved every second of it. I laughed, I cried and the suspense had me on edge. Grace is such a badass heroine. She knows what she wants and gets it. Raide is a hurt and broken man who wants nothing more than revenge and see light again.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review.

What a fun and flirty read! I enjoyed reading about Grace, a kick ass bounty hunter who really hasn't been given a chance because she is a girl. After her employer decides that maybe he has been a bit chauvinistic, he agrees to give Grace the new bail jumper. Enter hot as F@ck Raide Knox. Raide pushes all of Grace's buttons and melts her panties. The serious attraction between these two is nuclear. This is a great new series so far and I'm so looking forward to book two! Five star entertainment!

I found this book to have a lot of originality. Unfortunately, it wasn't the most unpredictable book. However, I really loved the characters and they left me wanting more.

The heroine, Grace, is rather isolated in her life. She's got some support system, but she's usually the odd man out. At work, as a bounty hunter, she struggles to prove she's tough enough and can do what the men do; at home, she is judged by her mom and sisters, who live in the beauty pageant universe. She's got some solace at work, her boss is more ignorant than really unsupportive of her; and her co-worker, Vance, is always there for her when he can, but she's pretty sure he's got deeper feelings for her. At home, she does have her hero, her father, to fall back on, but he's usually hiding in the shed. Otherwise her life is consumed by her job and her off-time is spent with her best friend, Kady, as they go dance and drink at clubs. Her world gets shaken up as her boss gives her the first big chance she's had. She's tasked with bringing Raide Knox in after he skipped bail. However, after looking at her files on the guy, she realizes she saw him the night previous when her and Kady were out. And he was huge, and she denied any kind of attraction to him, despite him getting her blood pumping. She's shocked and boggled when she starts thinking about him as a job. She's too small to be able to physically take the man down, and seducing him is going to be hard after she told him she doesn't go for guys like him. However, the latter plan is her best bet and sets out with a plan to get his attention. She knows not to get physical with him, for the sake of her job, but she can lure him into a trap. But first, she has to catch his interest without it appearing as though she's stalking his movements. She's got her work cut out for her, especially when her feelings for him start to grow.

As far as the plot went, there wasn't much that was such a twist that I couldn't see it coming. Most of the originality of the story came from the characters and the dynamics between them. It was refreshing to see characters who were rather flawed but witty and real. Raide was determined to follow the path he had set himself on, yet he wasn't willing to change it once Grace entered his life. As far as Grace went, I was really glad to see that the author didn't depict her as a dumb heroine doing a lot of things despite knowing better. She certainly had a period of this book that she was in said role, but she was quick to realize that she was going to have to make some really tough decisions that no matter what would break her heart. There as a lot of depth to the characters that made them enjoyable and real to read.

I am really looking forward to what comes next in this series. I'm even more grateful that I don't have long to wait for the next one.
