When I first read a BDSM romance by Candace Blevins (I think it was Safeword: Rainbow) she shot up to close to the top of my 'must buy' list, along with Joey W Hill and Tiffany Reisz. With this book, she can also take a place in my list of thriller writers like Daniel Silva and Frederick Forsyth.

This book hooked me from the very beginning. I wanted to know who the narrator was, and what they were doing. Then there was the interaction with this character, Ice, and the hero of the tale, Brain. It can be very hard to find people to really talk to when you are a genius, and I like Brain so much from his previous appearances in both the Chattanooga Supernaturals series and the first of the Rolling Thunder MC books that I was truly happy for him.

Of course, it's not going to be plain sailing. The guy is a member of a motorcycle club and a werewolf after all. The part of the book where - well I won't give the plot away - but let's say the two main characters have to take a big risk to get something back. And this part was pure thriller. Taut writing, no surety of a good outcome, some really really bad guys - it had the lot.

As usual there is some hot sex, and there is also some violence that is pretty hard to read.

Note that reading Duke is a prerequisite for this one, but take it from me, that's not a hardship.

Do yourself a favour - if you like romance, if you like biker books, if you like shifters, if you like thrillers, try this book. It has something for everyone.

This book was better than book one. I liked Brain and Harmony’s connection, but Brain really ruined it at the end with his inner dialogue, saying how he missed blow jobs and anal with club whores and that Harmony should be really grateful to him, fro what I had read from Brain’s character throughout the book, this just did not seem like a statement he would say, it was almost like he got make to the MC club and he became a asshole! I also, really do not get the whole “I’m a werewolf” thing at all, and the past characters cropping up from previous books just gets to long winded.

Brain is a hacker and member of the RTMC. He finally found his match for hacking and life in Ice. She matches his skill set and has been on his radar for a while. She has done some hacking for hire that has landed her in compromising situations more than once and this is no exception. Ice’s backstory is horrific so I would recommend looking at the trigger warnings for this book before reading. Brain and Ice ultimately are trying to figure out how to make their relationship work with the PTSD Ice is plagued with. I loved that the issues they faced weren’t easily resolved as most issues in real life aren’t. I was disappointed in the way Duke, Gonzo, and Bash treated her, but Brain did a stand up job putting her first over everyone. I really enjoyed this book and the way it ended. It was an actioned packed read I couldn’t put down.

Brain is smart and rough and buff and stuff. He is on a mission to find the person who hacked their MC and sold their information. When he finally catches up to Ice he and his wolf are intrigued. She is smart and engaging. She is also damaged goods. Brain always treats her with respect. He doesn’t always treat her well but he always treats her with respect. Not knowing what torture she endured at the hands of the Russians Bash & Gonzo trigger her PTSD and animosity. I love that Brain takes the time to work with her on her issues rather than just giving up. I love that he won’t allow Duke or any of the other guys to disrespect her. This is a sweet sometimes dark MC romance and may push some triggers but a really great read.

This novel had my awestruck. I can’t imagine the torture that Harmony had been through and then for her to experience flashbacks after what Gonzo and Bash did. There is something about werewolf shifters that’s a serious turn on. I guess from TrueBlood. But Brain, he loved her from the very beginning because she outsmarted him and eluded him for a long time. I loved every single bit of this read. Another book I’ve read in one sitting, it’s just that good.
