I loved this series as a teenager and when something reminded me of it recently, I decided to borrow it from the library and see if it held up. I don't know if I'd necessarily recommend it to a new reader now but it was a fun, nostalgic read for me. It's a slightly ridiculous adventure but with a great main character and an interesting premise. This wasn't the plot I was remembering, so that's probably the second or third book and maybe I'll continue re-reading the series one day.
