Some funky Vonnegut stuff in there especially about creating extended families with new middle names, but lacking a decent central spine. More like a novella really, a first draft.

Vonnegut manages to bring to light the stupidity in human kinds classification of everyone into "family" groups. Blood relatives, from the same state and/or country relatives, or simply piling ourselves into a particular group of people because it seems to be the "right" or "best" one. He spotlights the idiocy of war, and how it comes about because of these "family" ties which lack reason and logic in the first place. When we remove the various titles and relations we label our lives with, we really all are the same two legged, "intelligent", reproducing creatures.

Wonderful, savvy, brilliantly written. Funny at times, disturbing in its insight at others. Read this book!
