Juan Rulfo is capable of bringing rural Mexico to life with ease. The depth of his characters and plots is very rich and makes you connect with every single one of them. This is a nice book and a beautiful edition although Pedro Páramo will be forever his masterpiece.

So apparently Juan Rulfo is NOT the Mexican cousin of Jean Ralphio from Parks & Rec, but you could have fooled me. Both seem to be experts at finding and immediately losing large sums of money, and they both just have a way with words...
