As other reviewers have stated, it was too short. I wish it had been longer, and am eagerly anticipating Vol. 2

This is a very quick graphic novel read. It focuses on Echo, an indigenous girl who keeps mostly to herself. Based on the inferences of the book, she is a a new student in high school. This interesting event happens where she falls asleep in her history class and she is transported back in time during the Pemmican War at a Saskatchewan prairie. There Echo learns about the trade and indigenous Metis people who live on the land.
Since the volume is so short, we only get a surface level understanding of Echo and the Metis people. I think it is such an interesting novel, I plan to read the others in the series with the hopes to learn more about Echo and her heritage.
I love the art style and colors selected in this graphic novel, honestly, half of the meaning is found through the illustrations.
