I try to make it at least 20% in to a book before I stop, but I was so incredibly bored. This book is nearly 20 hours long as an audiobook and I just couldn’t do another two hours. So much of this first part of the book has been a expositional repetition. This is another one I’ll maybe come back to some day, but it’s not worth it to me to keep trying right now.

I think this is probably my new favorite book, honestly
It has a bit of a clunky start, and there a few parts here and there that probably could have been fleshed out better, but overall I think it builds on itself very well! It switches between three different perspectives/points in time pretty regularly and it gives it a fun winding quality that you wouldn't have gotten if everything what just told in a straightforward chronological way. The formatting really helps build the tension, moreso than the plot itself which is pretty straightforward once you have all the pieces (no spoilers, but the ending is actually my favorite part, some people seem to not like it very much but I am not one of them)
If you're looking for a Capital S Science™ Fiction novel, this probably isn't for you, but if you're a fan of star trek (specifically the more out there TOS style plots) and it's ilk, you're gonna have a fun time

Stopped after Ch 4, 20% was bored.
I didn't find any of the characters interesting and feel like I should by 20%.
Several unexpected things happening but no real mystery or tension.
They way this company plans and runs the expedition often left me asking why? Kind of like decisions from the higher ups at my day job.
