***Trigger Warnings - child death, sexual assualt, rape, suicide, pandemic*** I picked up this book from the lovely Jane B. Night at a Christmas event for a local bookstore. Unfortunately it has taken me this long to get it off my physical TBR lol I love her twist on the shifter romance but with a 'little house on the prairie' vibe. It was a quick read, which I enjoy. I was also taken aback by some of the content and how fast the story was churned out. I definitely feel like this story could have been a 300 pager at minimum. I felt like some of the plot twists that happened was so sudden I found myself physically setting down the book and asking out myself out loud "WhAt!?". Love having a more diverse cast, in both race but also having a disabled main character is not seen so often. I was dying for a description of Cyrus and I don't feel like we really got that, I don't think I knew what his hair color even was.
