Two young women have the power to manipulate all the elements...which fulfills a prophecy foretold years before. They must each grapple with their powers, how their family and friends react to them, and how their country would like to use them.

I didn't particularly care for this book...it almost felt like there was too much going on in the book. Not only were there many different plot lines, but Legrand tried to fit in too many genres (romance and sex scenes, adventure, magic, fantasy, etc.) And it definitely doesn't help that the two main characters were not likable.

DNF- I tried so hard but I don’t think I can finish it, I have no idea what is going on and I’m almost 200 pages in.

More like 3.5. I enjoyed this book, I thought the concepts were cool and the characters interesting although I enjoyed Eliana more. The pacing was excellent, it moved swiftly and there was never a dull moment. I was nervous that with the time jumps I would just be really confused but that wasn’t the case, the chapters flowed nicely together. There was a whole chapter in it involving Rielle that was entirely a rather descriptive, although not explicit, sex chapter that, to me, was not needed and did not move the plot along at all.
Was it the best book I’ve read this year? No. Was it pretty good, yes, yes indeed.
