A great book! I liked the historical aspect of it as well as the modern scenes. There were quite a few parts that were quite difficult to read purely because of the descriptions of the cruelty that happened during WWII. The last chapter with Adalyn narrating broke my heart, but at the same time, I absolutely loved it. I loved how it showed the true pain that war brings and didn't shy away from how tragic things were. I would like to mention that if you are triggered by things such as violence, bl00d, or d3ath, then you should probably be careful and do your own research before you read the book.
