Easy and enjoyable read, I think the glimpse of each characters back story was the most interesting part of this volume and I look forward to see how they expand on this and how the stories will entwine and evolve.

2.5 stars. One reviewer commented it is "Scooby-Doo Lovecraft." Fairly accurate.

this was a fun little read. more gory than I'd prefer, and I wish I'd gotten a better sense of the characters. my library only has 1 book, but I was looking it up and there's more to the series - more opportunities for character development along the way. it seemed like a lot of setup for only 1 book. I liked the art style and the setting.

I really enjoyed the art style and the wicked story. I'm intrigued to see what they do with Blackwood and what potential these new students bring to the table.

Basically, it's a comic about Miskatonic University, but without the Lovecraft crutch (a good move, imo). The story is fairly by the numbers for the genre, especially if you've read a lot in this genre, but Veronica and Andy Fish's art really sets it apart, making the supernatural vibrant in it's creepiness and grotesqueness. Personally, it hit the spot for something weird. I hope there will be further volumes.
