I can't believe we're finally at the end of this series; it's bittersweet to say goodbye to Whyborne and Griffin and all their friends and family but DEOSIL was a great ending. We've seen Whyborne grow into himself throughout the whole series but now we finally see the culmination of all his growing confidence, connection to others, and willingness to never compromise on exactly who he is. I've loved this journey for Whyborne and I couldn't be happier that he has Griffin by his side always. While the last few books of the series have focused pretty heavily on the coming battle and paranormal side of the story, the love between Whyborne and Griffin has always been there and always been a source of support and care for our MCs.

Additionally it's been great to see Christine's journey as she's gained professional recognition, fallen in love, and even started her own family. I especially loved the last chapter of DEOSIL where we got to see everyone a year later, finally at peace and safe in their beloved murder town Widdershins. Now I'm off to read the spin off series because I've come to love Jordan L. Hawk's writing and storytelling so much.

It’s inevitable that a series must come to an end, but when it’s one that you’ve especially loved, reading the final book is always bittersweet. Deosil did the series proud and ended the way the first book started - with humour, adventure and excitement. There were tears, too (my own) especially during two particular interactions Whyborne has with his parents. I’m a sucker for those moments and these ones were short but lovely. I will miss the cast of characters Jordan L. Hawk has created. They are all wonderfully odd, each in their own special way and I will be happy to visit with them when I do my re-reads. But I will miss looking forward to each new adventure. As for Widdershins, I’ll miss that crazy murder town too.

4 Stars!

Eleven books read over 5 years and what a journey!

I will just simply reiterate that Hawk has created something special here. It has romance and epic love and a battle against good and evil that is complex and rich with legend and lore.

What I will remember most is that this series has heart.

I’m sad to say goodbye to this wonderful group of characters and again, if you haven’t started with [b:Widdershins|16128152|Widdershins (Whyborne & Griffin, #1)|Jordan L. A series completion! Overall series rating is 4 stars, and this book was my least favorite. UGH. I will keep the favorites in mind when I lovingly look back on the characters.

Loved it!

Very beautiful ending to a very beautiful series. Read this book in one sitting. I was at the edge of my seat. Cannot wait to read the spinoff series.
