I read this book as a suggestion of an author from Mexico City to get an idea of life in Mexico City. The book is... fascinating. It's a slice of life story about people with interconnected lives straight from a popular Christmas romance film but with a kind of sad, quiet dread. It's probably one of the most depressing books I've read only because it has such a surface of happiness for everyone involved but a real depressing story for all of them. Even the ones who got "what they wanted".
