I preferred some of Rebecca Yarros' other stories but this was a good read and resonated with me as an ex-military wife.

I’m glad so picked up this book from Amazon First Reads-which I didn’t know was a thing until this month! I really enjoyed the story, but it does have one of my least favorite troupes-miscommunication! In my opinion, there are equal parts sweet and annoying love story going on here. It still gets 3 stars from me because I didn’t want to put it down, enjoyed the multiple POV and the timeline jumping to give insight into their whole story. Also, readers should know this is definitely a steamy/open door romance-which I am good with but I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

It took me half the book to get into it, and then I was all in. There were a lot of parallels within the relationship that I connected with being a wife of a veteran. Izzy and Nate are two strangers that continue to find each other in cities around the world with no other reasoning besides fate. They’re like magnets. Through trauma, deployments, risk, and war. they have to decided if their relationship is nothing but a possibility or a shot at forever.
The war in Iraq and the happenstances that occurred create a thrilling ride leaving you wonder how it will all end: life or death, war or love, possibilities or forever.
