It was a fun and entertaining story that suit me fine for this hot summer day. I liked the storyline and it was visible how the main character is developing during the story.. A really sweet and delightful second chance story from a new to me author that I will read again for sure.

What a great summer book- just in time for your beach vacay! The chemistry between Finn and Maggie was so adorable! This was a run and quick read that made me smile. The banter was hilarious and Finn was so darn likable and charming. I was excited to see this was book 1 in a series- I am looking forward to reading about more characters in this darling town.

After 8 years, Maggie realizes that the quickie Vegas wedding she thought was "taken care of" that same weekend in fact wasn't. She travels across the country from California to Maine to find Finn and settle things once and for all. But the spark that they had in Vegas has never died out and they are both left questioning what they really want.

The Do-Over is a sweet romance with plenty of heart. The instant rekindled chemistry between Maggie and Finn was obvious from the first chapter. And the family dynamic between Finn and his Nana was so cute it could give you a tooth ache, in the best way.

I loved seeing snippets of what Finn and Maggie were like on their Vegas vacation together, each of them challenging the other with fun and light dares as well as with more important matters in their lives, like their dreams and career goals. But they also allowed each other to be who they are, without pushing for either to change.

I would recommend The Do-Over to anyone looking for a romance that will make you say "awww" and feels like being snuggled in your favorite oversized hoodie.

The author does provide a list of content warnings at the beginning, but in case you need it, please be advised that the book does contain elements of:
- cancer, a child with a disability after a car accident, mentions of car accident, mentions of a violent relationship and alcoholism, parental death, and mentions of childhood parental neglect

I loved this second chance love story. The author jumped right into the meat of the story, with occasional scenes from their past days in Vegas, when they were young, full of fun & laughter. Now Maggie & Finn have big responsibilities, live on separate sides of the country, and when they find out they are still married there are all kinds of twists. This happens to be my favorite genre when reading contemporary romances and I am all for more of the same.

Note I do know the author, but I bought this book on my own, this review is my own.

You should see my messages to Melissa while reading this book. Without even finishing it I told her that I wanted the next one and that it was so adorable.

This book is written at a nice fast pace, you could tell that the characters had a love at first site type of meeting.  Then of course someone gets in the way and they have to overcome it. I was so glad when the main character finally stood up to her family. I cannot wait until the next book in this series.
