Muddled action, inconsistent characterization, unmotivated actions, shaky descriptions and questionable writing all around.

There's an interesting core in here, but it's a mess.

Certainly an ambitious tale, with many new alien species, huge set pieces, and
the literal death of Crichton
, this action-packed tale was a nice return to the early days of Farscape, although fans of D'Argo and Zhaan will feel short-changed as they are barely in it. The writing is serviceable but not great - Moya is described as 'the size of Manhattan' no fewer than three times in the opening pages, which is too many times, and possibly also inaccurate. Was she that big?

Chiana's character seems a little off, too, a little more willing to double cross her friends than I think she would have been after knowing them as long as she had by this point, but it's all in the name of plot, I suppose.

Parts were quite funny, and mostly it was in character... but still, not the best Farscape novel out there. Good for an afternoon read, though.
