The Bad Boy Cowboy by Kate Pearce is a good fit for readers looking for a contemporary romance novel that explores themes of healing, self-discovery, and the power of family and trust, set against the backdrop of a California ranch.

I do enjoy this series. With the issues from their childhood the Morgan's had to deal with, it's a wonder any of them managed to have a relationship.

I really did not expect to like HW. His character was so unlikable in previous books. While at the same time, you would get these slight glimpses of his pain.

HW and Sam battled from beginning to end. Normally if couples behave like that, I find the storyline very frustrating. They both had serious issues to overcome, but their characters and the relationship was so well written, I didn't get the same level of frustration.

Sam was sassy, strong, independent with an underlying layer of vulnerability. HW was fragile. Not something you would normally attribute to a big, strong, tall cowboy. HW and Sam were also funny. I spent a lot of time laughing at their repartee.

A romantic, sexy, funny read. Makes you really want to visit the Morgan Ranch.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy.

So good

I'm sad we are out of Morgan brothers and can't wait to see who is next as I continue the series.

** I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the Net Galley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in my review are my own and given freely. **

This series has been just amazing. I’m not sure if this will be the last book as all of the brothers have had their stories told and the main mystery of their mom has been wrapped up. Yet there’s still their sister, Rachel, who can have a story I suppose. Not to mention the people in town.

The chemistry between HW and Sam is hot and I love their banter. Both have so many issues to deal with but are also very used to putting on a false front for everyone around them. They’re both extremely stubborn and hate asking for help…one because he doesn’t think he deserves the love and support of his family and the other because she doesn’t ever want to be considered weak or needy.

It is almost comical how Sam and HW each think they know what is best for the other and assume they are doing what the other wants of them. I swear, sometimes I couldn’t keep track of who should be upset with who and why…in a good way. It was highly entertaining.

I have been very impressed with this author throughout this entire series. I have yet to read any of her other work but feel I need to get cracking on working through her library. She has quite a range and it should be interesting.
