TO HEALTHY FRIENDSHIPS THAT KNOCK SENSES INTO YOU *CLINK*

Best Parts:
Spoiler
[1] When Richard finally accepted David as his very own, red-headed, foxy bastard.

Worst Parts:
Spoiler
[1] when Richard was being an idiot that Dominic had to verbally slap him to gain some self-awareness.

Favourite Quotes:
Spoiler
[1] "I want you back. I want you as my lover, my right hand, my devious, lying, counterfeiting, entirely unprincipled fox."
[2] Even the plainest gift would be attention-grabbing, inappropriate, dangerous. Richard would just have to give his valet the world.
[3] "I honestly believe Julius was expecting me to present you to the others." // "As your lover?" // "Mmm. He has evidently guessed. Do you mind?" // "Not if you don't."
[4] The world was fool enough to get in their way, it would just have to be dealt with.

I recently finished the first book in this series and decided to skip over to the last book because I was so curious about Cyprian and Richard's story. I'm happy I did because this was by far a massive improvement from the first book and I read it as quickly as I could. I'd gladly read an entire spin-off series of David and Richard having their own adventures together!

Oh, Cyprian, you sneaky, sexy, ginger fox, you. You have all those titled, privileged, wealthy gentlemen in the palm of your hands, don't you? It's funny how Lord Richard was concerned that *he* held the position of power in your professional relationship when it's really been you all along. Good thing you set him straight then, because those fireworks between the two of you were crazy hot! I'd love to read more of your machinations one day, because you are probably one of the most interesting characters the wonderful KJ Charles has written. Until then, keep all those rich bastards in line and out of trouble, okay? 5 stars

Oh, just great gay 1820’s fun! My first K.J. Charles, shockingly, and it won’t be my last. Totally devourable and hot!

My favourite of the trilogy, containing two of my favourite things: redheads (well, one) and domestic service. Again, emotion runs a bit high for my tastes but it's balanced by excellent moments of tension and a slow build up. I also enjoyed the language which made me seek out the XVIII c. Classical Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue. I'll be introducing those ancient vulgarities back into the common parlance and that is a promise, my friends. The voice actor of the audiobook does a great job overall, although I'm less keen on him speeding up whenever reading a sex scene. I get it, it's passion but I really would have preferred a slow and measured diction.
