This is probably the worst Agatha Christie book I have read.

I understand now why people only read this to complete.

Will also add the descriptions of the fat woman are so horrible around half way through this book it's unbareable.

It's odd, flamboyant, and silly, but I'm pretty fond of it all the same.

If you never read an Agatha Christie book. DO NOT READ THIS ONE. I have no idea what Christie was thinking writing a plotless story, a story that involved creating a Hitlers Dean human? WTF…

Disappointing from one of my favourite authors. Reads like a poorly plotted Le Carré. It’s not very long but requires significant exposition, making the pacing and plot difficult to understand. Ambiguous ending. Would not recommend.

Maybe it was the wrong book for the first time reading Christie. Maybe it was a book written for different people in a different time. But to me, reading the book felt like a co-worker telling you about their life and while you get the general flow, sometimes events go missing. Even when approaching the end of the book, it still did not feel like it was working up to a point and during the final chapters characters seemed to appear, disappear and act at random. The conclusion was completely dependent on a deus ex machina and, honestly, none of the characters -except for the main character's great-aunt- were extremely likable. I am happy to have read the book but would not recommend it or try it again.
