this book is simply confusing. the main events don't happen in the  book but behind the scenes.

Wow. Heard this wasn’t good but I’ve liked some of the mysteries others didn’t like. But this was horrible. Ridiculous plot. Slight mystery of who the woman is revealed super soon, and an attempt to continue the mystery falls flat. Attempt at tension over youth movement taking over the world just not interesting. Horribly offensive discussions around Hitler, with the characters way too sympathetic to him. Nearly DNF but I wanted to get through the Christie oeuvre.

Not really sure what happened here, but this is not a good book.

Occasionally, Ms. Christie will write a political intrigue instead of her usual murder mystery, they're usually OK but this one was not.

So, I really couldn't tell anyone what this was about because not one plot had a resolution, instead everything ended in the most vague, unsatisfactory way.

I didn’t like the characters, storyline, or resolution. It started interesting enough with Staffy being approached by a random woman at an airport, they had come to a deal that he would be poisoned, and she would take his plane ticket and passport in order for her life to have been saved. Upon finishing I’m still not sure what all the espionage was about since even when there was an agreement that they would disrupt politics (or something?) they even admitted that their actions wouldn’t achieve anything let alone achieve their illusive end goal of ‘fixing the world.’ Honestly, it read like a bunch of rich people had nothing better to do with their time, so they thought to stir a few pots and lament on the state of the world while doing nothing productive themselves. Oh, also, Hitler may or may not be alive and there was a drug invented to make everyone benevolent but forget both of those things because neither plot line went anywhere past the mentioning of.
