This was a surprisingly dull thriller. A lot happens, and the writing is mostly quite good, but I had to force myself to finish it. The characters are shallowly drawn at best, the plot is over the top and hard to credit, and there are huge holes. For example, the antagonists were supposedly all indoctrinated in a camp -- a really grim one. What camp has that kind of success? Also, I suppose that the threat posed by the antagonists might be significant, but the author isn't interested in telling us just how that would play out. And about that book finish . . . it's not one. This book is just a teaser for the next installment. There is no resolution at the end at all, just a cliffhanger. I can see the dollar signs in this author's eyes: Konkoly clearly wrote this book to make us buy the next. I also think that the reason the focus is action, not story, is that Konkoly is hoping someone hires him to write the script for a movie. I won't be buying the next book or bothering with any ensuing movie myself.

Overly stereotypical spy thriller.
Uses a lot of very westernised spy stereotypes specifically of Russian and US Marine type personalities.

Good book! I liked the characters and pacing but the second half is in the book coming out in 6 months! F you need instant gratification, wait until September to read this so the second book can follow it right away.

Good story, although believability seems low. I do like spies, and undercover paramilitary operations.
