Central questions raised in this collection: what makes us human? What is the relationship between humans and robots? What about love? What is “artificial” intelligence?

In light of recent discourses in education and academia about AI/chat gpt, it found this book and Rhee’s exploration poignant and so thoughtful in ways much of the conversations I’ve been hearing have not been. I’ve read too many think pieces and heard too many people proclaiming the end result f humanities is upon us! I feel that Love, Robot proves how generative, interesting and beautiful, if a bit frightening, the human/robot landscape can be.

Charming yet smart, full of clever allusions to AI history, with some wonderful lines. I laughed aloud over several passages, though "Laugh. Robot" was my favorite. Rhee is just brilliant, and _Love, Robot_ is a treat!

I am so, hopelessly in love with Love, Robot and all the robots in it. This collection is so beautiful, I had to take the time to scan it for further reference after I gave it back to my library.

"This world was not made for robots.
This world was not made for love.
There is never going to be a turn in this song"

- from "Sriracha," in the section "Human Attempt at Sonnets (Part 32)"
