I wouldn’t say that the plot of the book was so special but I really loved the characters (not all of them obviously)
I absolutely loved Cinder and Ella so I was so happy that they both were part of this story too <3
Dylan and Alice habe a very cute relationship and I love that their dynamic seems so real and honest <3
This book wasn‘t as special to me as Cinder and Ella but I still loved diving into this Hollywood world and getting to know Alice, her band and Dylan

I wanted to like this more than I actually did. This was a story of forging your own path. I liked the FMC’s two friends and the MMC the most, and wavered on the FMC at times but gave her a pass because of her mother being so awful. The mother of the FMC was… rough. The author got the tone down pat for her in terms of realism but
being controlling, emotionally abusive and emotionally neglectful
shouldn’t merit a pass at the end even if it’s a HEA. The MMC had similar family issues to a lesser extent, and I felt sorry for him between that and the female antagonist of the story. I didn’t mind the improbability of  the plot, but some of the characterisations were very one-note and it meant parts of the story dragged, which is a shame as I really like Kelly Oran’s work usually.
